Slava and Anna kindly put me up again and I am hanging with their daughters, Nastya and Sasha.

To Boston

　バスケやアイスホッケーの試合で有名なマジソン・スクエア・ガーデンでございます。いつもボストン行きのボルト・バスがここらへんから出てます。

This is the Madison Square Garden which is famous for the games of basket ball and ice hockey and so on. The Boltbus bound for Boston is leaving around here.

　インターナショナル・ストリング・トリオでマサチューセッツ州ウースターにある老人ホームのパーティーでの演奏です。

おおっと、禁酒中の一平がビールを！ってこれ、ノンアルコール・ビールでございます。え？禁酒の理由ですか？それは私が若い頃に、色々と酒のせいでやらんでええ事をやってしまったと言いますか……… Wow, Ippei, the man on the wagon, is drinking now?! Well, this is a non-alcoholic beer. You want to know why I am not drinking? Let's say, because of alcohol, I did quite a number of unpleasant things which I did not have to do....

International String Trio @ The French Library and Cultural Center

　ちょっと珍しい所で演奏してきました。ボストンにあるフレンチ・ライブラリーというフランス語の文書の図書館兼、フランスの文化センターでございます。そこのオープンハウスでの演奏で、フランスの曲をリクエストされました。ほっほっほ、正に国際色豊かなレパートリーを売りにする我々のためにあるような仕事でございますね。おフランスの曲をこれでもかと言うほど弾き倒してやったざんす。シェー。インターナショナル・ストリング・トリオ（国際弦楽三重奏）の面目躍如でございますな。

We played at the place where we do not come so often. It was the French Library in Boston and we got the request to play a lot of French tunes. Ha-ha. Local jazz bands can never take that request but it was a piece of cake for us, because our speciality is the colorful and large repertoire of international tunes. We did not name ourselves International String Trio with no reason, you know.

　ところで、我々の演奏で、ベレー帽をかぶったジジィ（推定年齢７０歳）が次々と若い娘さんをステージに誘っては踊っておりました。齢７０、いまだ現役。ス、スゲェ。こういう所やな〜、俺に足らんのは。

By the way, while we were playing at the library, 70-ish grandpa with a beret kept bringing young ladies on the stage and kept dancing with them. A 70-year-old man, still in active service. Gosh, that was bloody awesome. This is the part I am missing in my body.

Boston Public Library

　この日は一日ボストン図書館で曲を書いておりました。私、曲を書く時は、この『シベリウス』というアプリケーションを使っているのですが、これが素晴らしい。簡単になんでもできまっせ。作曲と編曲の仕事は全部これでやってます。

I was writing a tune whole day at the Boston Public Library. I always use this application called "Sibelius" when I write tunes and this app is just excellent. You can literary do everything so easily on this one. I do all the composing gigs and arranging gigs with it.
　

Slava's Birthday!!

　大変に気持ちのよいギグから帰ってきまして、今度はウチのバンドリーダーのスラーバの誕生日パーティーです。楽しい夜、楽しい１日でございました。ただし、主役のスラーバ君はウワバミのように飲んでおりましたので、何一つ覚えているかははなはだ疑問ではありますが。

We came back from a gig and now the party time. It was the birthday of our bandleader Slava. That was a good night, a good day. One thing, Slava was so happy and chugalugging whole night so I do not know if he remembers any of those.

International String Trio @ Brooksby Farm

　一平は、この日もものごっつい所に来てまいました。インターナショナル・ストリング・トリオでマサチューセッツ州ピーボディーにある農園に来ております。空の青さが尋常じゃありませんがな。『天高く』という言葉はこういうことをさすのですね。もうこの風景が、私が住むド汚いブルックリンと同じ星にあることが不思議に感じられます。仕事で来たのも忘れて、写真を１００枚ぐらい撮ってまいました。かっかっか。

I came to the great farmland. I had a wedding gig in Peabody, Massachusetts with International String Trio. Look at the pics. I do not even know the name of the color of the sky; it was bluer than blue --- but not in a sad sense like Michel Jackson's song. I could not believe that this view existed on the same planet that dirty and squalid Brooklyn was also on. I came here to work but I left that thought behind and took about 100 pictures. Ha-ha.

いいですね。ひまわりもなんと生命力に溢れていることか。ああ、マンハッタンのコンクリート・ジャングルの最下層に這いつくばって、ミミズのようにモゾモゾと太陽の光が届かない場所で蠢いている不健康ミュージシャンには、このひまわりは眩しすぎます。 A little sunflower field. Tremendous life force. Oh, these sunflowers are too dazzling for this musician with an unwholesome complexion wriggling like a worm on the lowest strata of the concrete jungle of Manhattan.

ラマにクジャクにヒツジにニワトリに、色んな動物もおりました。 I love the animals in there. Llamas, peacocks, sheep, chickens, etc.

結局、真っ暗でなんも見えんやないかーい。 It's too dark to see anything anyway!
