Chinatown Bus

　この日もいつものようにチャイナタウン・バスに乗ってニューヨークに帰りました。チャイナタウン・バスというのは廉価の長距離バスでボストン／ニューヨーク間を片道１５ドルで行き来できる、まさに貧乏ミュージシャンにはうってつけのバスです。ちなみにベーシスト仲間ににプチ情報なのですが、追加料金なしで大きいアコースティック・ベースを荷台に積むことができます。グレイハウンド・バスを使おうとした時は２０ドル払えと言われました。はじめはベースを荷台に載せるのは怖かったのですが、けっこう大丈夫です。（まあ、保証はできませんがね）。最近はボルト・バスという車内でインターネットが使えるバスもあるらしいので、今度はそれを試してみようと思います。

I went back to New York with what-so-called Chinatown bus. It is the cheap long-distance bus and I think this is the cheapest way to travel between New York and Boston; it costs only 15 bucks one way. Now here is a little info for the fellow acoustic bassist. They charge nothing for your acoustic bass to put into the cargo bay. When I asked the guys in Grayhound, they told me to cough up extra 20 bucks. Putting the bass in the cargo bay is really scary but it has been fine for me and no damage has been made. (I cannot guarantee though!) I think a new competing company came to the market called Bolt Bus and their catch is that there is free Wi-fi in the bus. I'll try it next time.
